NOTE! NEW VENUE

Well after a bit of searching and a lot of suggestions from the forum (thanks everyone), we have a new meeting venue.

The new place is The Metcalfe Arms in Hawstead just South of Bury St Edmunds (map). The people running the pub, Nigel and Anne, are TVR owners and also TVR club members. I understand that the Norfolk / Suffolk region have used them recently and have been happy with the service provided.

They can cope with 30 comfortable to eat, there is a choice of roasts a veggie and a fish option on Sundays and they can provide any choice of food as long as they know in advance. £6.95 gets you a main course, £8.95 gets you a main and dessert. There is parking for about 28-30 cars. Being a TVR owner and club member, he is very aware of what we require and that numbers will be approximate. This isn't a problem to him.

So to details. We are booked in for 1.00pm so suggest that we aim to meet at 12.30pm as normal. If your coming along please let me know on this thread or drop me an email through my profile, as I would like to get Nigel and Anne a good idea of numbers to help them out. I will be speaking to them again mid next week.

Well that's it. Look forward to seeing you all on the 27th.

I had the Griff serviced at Scole yesterday and saw your Cerbera...all appeared well? Jason & Vince once again did an outstanding job...they do deserve our support and recommendation! thumbup

Please add Susie and me to the PHEA Lunch List!

Thanks!

Not my Cerb - it's not going in until Monday. I'm a bit concerned it might need a new clutch as well frown

If any of you cannot find the pub just ask a local where the Nudie or Newdie ( different spelling one side of village to the other ) is and they will direct you. It's an interesting tale and keep your eyes open !

Right then, I,ve just confirmed everythings okay with Nigel the landlord and given him a figure of 20 to work with.

As far as location of the Metcalfe Arms is concerned, coming from Bury direction you take the A134 until Sicklesmere where you turn off towards Hawstead. Once in the village, you go past the village gren in the middle of the village and continue on heading out of Hawstead. The Metcalfe Arms is on the left (I think !) as you leave the village. Postcode for sat-navs IP29 5NR.

Lets hope its stopped raining by then !
