Telly troubles??
Discussion
my sky was out for 4 days, the engineer came sunday morning and put things right. He had to replace the pointy thing on the end of the dish and realign the dish due to the wind.
Its fine now, but did say he tightened the bolts on the bracket which had worked loose. He did say the wind only needs to offset the dish my the smallest amount to get pixelation or lose the signal all together.
Hope this helps

Yeah, its a jungle out there! Fella down the road has just treated himself to a whooping great 4x4, maybe thats to blame, well that get blamed for everything else! Nothing I can see obvious so I have called in the telly experts to relieve me of a bundle of notes
Still its the first trouble for 5 years so I guess thats not bad going.

Heavy rain will affect reception (or the digital replacement for the word reception)
True enough - the signals of the new digital wonder-age are of a sufficiently high frequency to (a) not go very far (b) be absorbed by moisture. These rather practical factors were overlooked in the enthusiasm to give up 99 channels of shit instead of 5 decent ones.

For the last couple of days my telly has been playing up, like I missed 5th Gears Lotus Carlton shootout tonight
The telly is pixulating and losing the Sat' signal. Am I the only one to have these troubles or is it local weather conditions?
My TV is also playing up, the picture has coloured in places. Not sure if the tv is on its way out mind.

Got rid of my dish years and years ago now got Freeview for the additional two main decent channels
Last time I saw a satelite there were (5?) hundreds of channels

Booked up the telly fella and guess what - yeah my telly is now perfectly fine once again!! Just like a car playing up threaten and book a garage and then runs fine. So it seems my old monolithic TV has another spell of life in it. I keep eying the flat screen plasmas or LCD or whatever they are called, so long as I can get Top Gear I'm happy.
