Hi all!! I really need to get my 4 split rim alloys refurbed and I wondered if anyone has any good recommendations of somewhere to go, preferably in Bury St Edmunds but Norfolk/Suffolk will do..... I know Darren's Merc was totally transformed somewhere in Norfolk so they would be a good start!

Have you got the details Darren?

cheers

Rupert

There ya go Rupert! thumbup

Just to add to this, the address is:
12, Garden St,
Norwich,
Norfolk
NR1 1QU

£75 per wheel would be there powder coating treatment.

The polished lip on my car meant the refurb was £120 per wheel. I know their prices have increased since then, but I can tell you by how much in a couple of weeks - I'm getting them refurbed again smile

ETA: New Image quote a working week for most refurbs.

There's a place that does p/ex wheels - you send them your old ones and they send you shiny refurbed ones. Can't remember where it was though!

The parent's insured me on their Freelander for then biggrin

This time they're refurbished, my car will be in for a service and some other bits, so I've made sure I've got a curtesy car from them smile

I'm not sure if New Image have any curtesy cars, themselves. It may be worth an ask?

Was it Pristine in Milton Keynes? I once heard they did this for a quick turn around. I'm sure someone out there can confirm/correct me smile

A bit further afield but I've used http://www.wheelrefurbishing.com/ 3 times now and been extremely happy with their work. Cost for wheels was about 30ish quid a pop for the 12" wheels and 40ish for 15" ones. When I was last their collecting wheels there was a huge pile of lambo wheels waiting for somebody with rather deeper pockets!

As this is Pistonheads I hope you're talking about width and not diameter!

Pah, 12" diameter is what my mini uses. If 10" wheels went over my brakes I'd be running those as they look so much better smile

Well, the smaller the wheel the faster the acceleration...

Wonder what a Griff with 12" wheels would do 0-60 in?

Do you know if these chaps do just polishing. I want to clean up a set of 10" split rims off a mini prior to selling, but was going to dismantle them myself and just get the outer rims polished.

Apologies for chiming in late, but I've used this guy before who is based in Bury St. Edmunds, £30 per wheel and a good job to boot. Tony - 07899 863791.
