On the way home from work today I spotted a Saturn Sky cloud9

One of these for those of you who haven't seen one:

They sell it in mainland Europe as the Opel GT, but I don't think they don't sell it here, sadly frown. The one I saw was definitely badged up as a Saturn.

It was in a dark grey, no front number plate fitted [unless it was tucked in the windscreen], going along Church Street towards Fifers Lane.

Anyone else seen it or know what it's doing here and whether it's likely to be sticking around? smile

Ah yes, I immediately thought 'VX220'!

I haven't seen it, but Norwich isn't that far from the US air-bases at Lakenheath & Mildenhall and you always notice an increase in the quantity of American metal in the area around them.
Also, there's always the possibility that someone from Lotus Engineering has got one for some reason.

Indeed, that was the thinking; to replace the aging VX220 with the Sky thumbup

I work @ Lakenheath / Mildenhall & have seen a couple of these, aren't they also called Pontiac Solstice? seems to be one car many names, Not a bad looker though, would like to get up close to one to have a proper look.

Yeap Saturn Sky, Pontiac Solstice and Opel GT all built on the same platform

Seen a few Solstices in the States and they look great. Meant to be a big pile of poo to drive according to the reviews I've read, which is a shame

I keep seeing one down our Road (Black/Dark Grey), it seems to be heading out as I'm heading home, not really seen it in the light but wondered what it was, as above it reminded me of a VX220.

Yep, the Opel GT is a re-badged Saturn Sky, the Solstice had a slightly different bodyshell but same underpinnings, I believe.

Road&Track [not usually known for a pro-USA-car view] held the Sky in quite high regard when compared with the new MX-5 a couple of years back smile
