I was there the whole weekend. Posted at Sear on saturday and then Revett on the Sunday. I was at the Revett bridge post when the 2 Ginetta's had their unfortunate coming together!The weather on saturday was awful but i was impressed with the number of spinners at sear being so low. Riches was a different matter though! I think the corn field collected more cars on saturday than the rest of the corners on the circuit combined!

Yep, thats where I was posted on saturday!Weather was bad, and on top of that I forgot my waterproofs! Wasn't too bad till I had to wade in the cornfield to dig out Salman Al Khalifa and Andrew Meyrick. Must have found every puddle in that field! Also had a big Formula ford crash into the tyre wall during there practise/quali. On contrast Sear the next day was beautiful! What actually happened with the Ginettas on Sunday? Did one jump the barrier or something?

They contacted coming down the back straight and went their seperate ways. The white one (number 4 i think) headed directly towards our marshal post and slid down the armco to the escape route at esses. The yellow one (number 47) went the other side of the track and hit the armco full speed backwards coming to a rest ontop of it. Edited by Zymurgy on Wednesday 11th June 17:25

I was there on Sunday helping RacingPete.
We were about 200/300 yards away when the yellow car hit the barrier with that nasty thump sound - we heard it and commented that it sounded expensive.
Went over to have a look - it was a bad accident - the marshals/etc did their usual excellent job.
Talk at the track was that he went in backwards at full speed mounted the armco then dropped back doing more damage to the front. When I left on Sunday the latest news was that the drive was alright, hope that is still the case.
Apparently the car is a write off, not really surprising as the speed at that part of the circuit is very quick.

I have some more picture of the G20, F3 and GT's - not very good but if anyone really wants them let me know and I'll put them up on Photobucket.

That is pretty much exactly what happened. I am unsure of the speed he went in at but i would guess around 120-130. The driver is fine from what i understand. He has since sent an email saying that he is hoping to be back racing soon but not with the same car!

Sorry, No.Once it became clear that the driver wasn't getting out of the car and therefore may have been injured it just didn't seem appropriate to me to keep taking pictures.
