Hotels in North Norfolk

Have not stayed in any of those, although I know of them.
The White Horse in Blakeney is not really a hotel, it's a pub which does rooms. Food there is very good, one of the chefs used to work at The Blakeney Hotel.
I suppose it depends on how quiet you want? The white Horse can be heaving at night, especially in the school holidays, whereas The Victoria should be very quiet, mainly residents eating there.
I'm also trying to decide on which hotel to go for, as we will be up that way in August.
My choices are:
The Manor Hotel, Blakeney
The Feathers, Holt
The Pheasant, Nr Weybourne.
(I'll probably go for The Feathers)

I've not stayed in any of them but my in-laws have lived in burnham market (or westgate if you really want to appear local...) for 25 years - so I know them all quite well...
personally? The george at cley is okay - bit close to the road and cley isn't the best village on the coast. Nice shop in the village though.
I don't really know the blakeney white horse but there is the white horse at burnham deepdale as well, which is lovely - great views and more in the centre of the action. Lovely food as well - but a bit more modern. But deepdale is a dead or alive place. Apart from the complex that's now the campsite/cafe. Which is nice, don't get me wrong.
Kings head - very modern - very london. They spent a million doing a place up that used to be an awful italian. Bircham is in the middle of nowhere so you will need to drive everywhere. But then having said that it's always very busy when I go past.
the victoria i don't really like. It's a lot better than it was before the upgrade but it's not all that. Ideas above station et al - the bar is really non existant. Holkham itself is very quiet. You can get to the beach and hall easily (both lovely) but you'll drive everywhere else. And the foods not too good.
The hoste is excellent - it's expensive but it's very popular for a reason. They're very good at what they do (and they do know it). And it's in the centre of burnham so there's plenty to do if it rains. I was there a couple of weeks ago and we were the only ones in the bar on a tuesday night (but the restaurant was full). But then two weeks before that it was standing room only on a similar tuesday. Good beer, lovely food, but it was better 10 years ago when there was jazz in the restaurant on a friday/monday. God that makes me sound old. I'm not. Honest. And make sure you're not there on A-Level night - all the trustafarians come out to play.
Don't forget the globe at wells (owned by the same people as the victoria) - supposed to be good now (and as it's on the butts it's nice and quiet but only 2 minutes from centre of the town and quay).
My first choice would probably be morston hall - absolutely superb food and a lovely location. But you'll be lucky to get in I would've thought. Other than that the hoste is always a winner.

Regarding the Globe at Wells, it was really good when it first got taken over, but it's gone downhill in the last 12 months, we don't even go in there on a weekend for a drink now.
I went to the opening of the Crown at Rudham on Sunday, it's been renovated and is now being run by the same guy who runs the Crown in Wells, Chris Couborough, and I was pleased with it, a bit more informal than the Crown in Wells, but well worth a look.
