Supermarket fuels

My Griff is perfectly happy with supermarket unleaded.

mostly use tesco super unleaded in the cerbera and seems fine.

Must admit, the Tuscan seems to run better on Tesco super than anything else.

Nothing but V-Power in the Z.
The Skud usually gets the 'ordinary' Shell 95RON, but will use any brand-name petrol if necessary (Total, Esso, Jet etc). I don't use supermarket stuff unless the car is running on fumes and I have no other choice.

L16COS runs on SUL primarily from Tescos. Whilst she's a pretty unstressed engine (only 175bhp or so per litre) if the fuel was bad I'd soon know about it. If your engine is set up such that the variability between (tightly regulated) fuels is an issue then you have serious problems and something is eventually going to wrong irrespective of what fuel you have in the tank.

I'm lucky in that my local shell matches the local big Asda on price, and my Scud runs really well on shell.

That seems fairly stressed to me! If my TVR was the same, it would develop 875bhp!

I use supermarket unleadeded for the Griff, no drama so far.

Noticed today that our local Shell garage has now dropped its price to match Morrisons, thats almost 4p off per litre.
Our old shopping basket Fiat Punto hated supermarket fuel and would pink very badly, our new old shopping basket Skoda Fabia TDI is'nt fussed as long as its diesel.
As for my crocks, well it was seriously suggested that mixing some parrafin with petrol would improve engine performance by reducing engine heat caused by the new fangled petrol concoctions.

i have always been paranoid with what i feed my supercharged mantis and been sniffy about supermarket fuel, that was until i was introduced to the in depth independant tests by thorney motorsport now tesco 99 is treated as champayne

I've started using Tesco's 99 RON and I think the Cerb runs better on it.

Put a dot after the www to make the link work, then click tuning, then fuel tests on the right. I'm not sure it's conculsive, but I think it's probably honest, and it wouldn't surprise me if Tesco's 99 is good.

I certainly suspect BP and Shell Superdooper are all about brand marketing...

Or if you happen to be driving to Switzerland I understand they have 100 Ron due to the altitude

look at the comparison, but bear in mind the cost of bp102, and its availability (about 8 stations country wide)
