Okay, I'd like some help. There's 11 of us who want to have a day out on the bank holiday weekend.

4 couples and 3 children (2 one year olds and one 2 1/2).

Any ideas on where we can all go? (In East Anglia)

I'm tempted on Colchester Zoo, but haven't been there for a long time, so don't know how good it is.

Colchester Zoo is very good and children love it - but yours are so young I doubt they'd get much from it. (In fact the prospect of taking three 2 y/os anywhere chills me to the core...)

There is also Africa Alive at Kessingland, so not to far, with the pub next door for lunch/dinner

Or even Banham Zoo....

As Simpo says not sure if the kids will be old enough to enjoy it....but I am sure the adults will...

Cheers.

Africa Alive is a superb park, we've been there once this year already. Very clean and nicely laid out. The youngest two will be wasted most places, but my son loves most things where there's something to see and do.

Perhaps Banham Zoo is worth a try, given it looks like they're run by the same people.

We went there about 3 years ago with my cousin and his family, it was a good day out. Banham zoo is owned by the same people that have Africa Alive....

Maybe Stonham Barns on the A1120 (tourist route) from Yoxford accross to the A140

At Banham Zoo, they were doing a 3 for 2 entry deal for the 3 parks, owned by the same family, IIRC.
So from Banham Zoo, Africa Alive and the Dinasour Adventure Park, you'll pay entry into 2 parks and get entry in 3rd for free. So some family entertainment can be planned for the rest of the summer season.

winkhehe

Seriously, it may be worth a look in, with such a large group smile

Clint,

Dont know how long you want to spend in the place or where particularly you want to go to but I have three young children. (7,4 and 3) and they love going to Melsop Farm.

Quite a bit to do for you here but certainly not a full on day.

I know you can't make a day of it but 2-3 hours if your stuck and I think £2 each go to the wind turbine at Swaffham, you will be amazed at how it works and when your climbing the stairs half way and you can feel the tower swaying, then get to the top the views and size of the fans is totally unreal.

I think on a windy day you can be at the top and it sways 2 metres each way!!!!!!

Trust me it is well worth it

Make a weekend of it and go to Diggerland nr Taunton/Tiverton just off the M5. Best ever day out for you and the kids, you can all drive all manner of diggers/dumpers ect. My son was able to drive a JCB around a field at the age of 12 (the lower age limit is 5) and my daughter controlled a mini JCB and dug holes at the age of 3.

I still haven't been to this yet! Think I need to go there soon. There was a BASE jumping competition in Great Yarmouth that sadly I was supposed to go to on Sunday but was stood up (how dare he!). It was supposed to be at Swaffham & the guys were jumping off the Ecocity wind turbines.
Can't remember why it was swapped over, think it could have been because the farmer didn't want any squashed guys on his field.
