Hi,
Has any of you locals used Offord motors recently for any repairs or servicing? Are they any good, reliable pricey.

I use Scole Engineering just outside Diss, most of the TVR owners that I know use them as well.

Their service is second to none.....

I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I personally would not use them following a very large bill (over double the quote !!!) and poor workmanship a few years ago when I had my TVR wedge. If you need to know more PM mail. Also Griffophenia from this forum has had his Griff in with them nearly all summer due to their inablity to find and fix a problem. I guess he is also looking at a huge bill.

If you are looking for TVR servicing you could do a lot worse than contacting Matt at Sebring, our Scole as previously mentioned.

I took the Saab there last week (they also do Saabs) and they were very cheap, £300 cheaper than the next best quote. It was only a clutch change but it works for me. I'll probably use them again.

They do pretty much everything. Friend took his knackered Supra there - it hadn't been serviced for years - and they got it running beautifully for a very fair price. In some places you get dollybirds, coffee and a monkey on the spanners. At Scole you get engineers and hands-on knowledge.

Ah yes, I did indeed mean Scole smile

To clarify, I used Kerridges once and vowed never to go back, then tried Offords which was a better price but they could never seem to do the work properly - they'd say they'd fixed it, or that it was 'running sweetly' only for me to find out when I got home that it wasn't. Courtesy cars were scrapyard rejects (maybe better now). Been with Scole ever since and very happy. Don't expect any sales patter - they just get on with it.

Agree, Scole is tops, would,nt go anywhere else, good work for an honest price. Just be prepared to need to book up 2/3 weeks to be in the Q.

Never had an issue with Offords in the 4 times I have been there. 2 services (a 6k and 12k), sports exhaust and some paint for the nearside quarter and passenger door.

I was looking for a TVR, went into Offord and both the guys there had old 911s, so I went away and bought a Porsche too. biggrin

I used Offords once and they did a fair job, but I was totally underwhelmed by their interest in me as a customer and the quote they gave for further work was horrendous. I would suggest you use Matt at Sebring instead.
