Didn't see this elsewhere on PH, but for those interested & close by Lola are doing a 50 year celebration in Huntingdon on the 12th October. Local rag we got said something like 18 cars to be running.

yeap, i'll be coming along to that, an opportunity far too good to miss! (me and a few other PH'ers did a tour of the factory a little while back, fantastic, hopefully some of those might come along as well)
the "paddock" of cars on the Sq should be quite a sight too! cool

ETA, well worth posting this thread in the Cambs forum too IMO - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/forum.asp?h=0&a...

Was also at the factory tour - assuming we're thinking about the same one. I was one of the volunteers for the pit-stop practices. And after that I promptly decided I needed a compressed air gun for wheel nut removal at home smile

Has that cambs forum always been there - I've never seen it before?

The fact they are 'Human Resources' doesn't mean they are actually human...

the tour i did was with Dink and a few other PH guys back in June, fantastic place, we were guided round all the various depts/sectors etc, very interesting, the convoy to and from there was great too, see here for pics and stuff smile

the Cambs bit of the forum is fairly recent, but very handy none the less IMO

Huntingdon is probably going to get a sight more visitors than it is expecting methinks fromaround and about. 10-minute walk for me. See you there if you're recognisable PH-wise!

Incase any of you lot have not heard who will be there, I'll tell you- John Surtees, who will be driving a car round the ring road. Anthony Reid too(i think it's him). And a couple more drivers who I can't remember right now.

How cool was that? I was at the junction of St Peters Road and Ermine Street - lovely and wide corner with a long straight so some big hoofage from some of the cars. bounceAWESOME

there were people everywhere, kind of reminded me of those old rally stages where people had to jump out of the way real fast! biggrin

was ever so busy, but worth the wait to see some of the cars in the paddock tho'

my pics are pending...

Exactly what I was thinking as the plod cars approached :- that everyone seemed to be getting closer and closer. I was beginning to wonder if it would get to the old rally style dive out the way!
