Just something that sprang to mind, but I guess there's issues as far as H&S etc.

Every year somewhere in East Anglia a group of drivers & hauliers turn out their best kit for a day to offer some entertainment to disabled or generally under priveledged kids. Always goes down a storm & from what i have read the kids love it.

What's the general opinion of doing the same with cars, anything unusual ?

I'm sure there's enough people in this area to rustle up a few cars & I guess the local rags would help out with publicity ?

What potential problems can you think of ?

opinions ?

hi this is the group that organise that trip-they will be a few down next year as at least one company has gone bust

perhaps they could help and give a few pointers.
i think the worst bit would be the health and safty stuff and crb checks etc

hi,

thanks for that link. I have just been looking at their site ! I saw it all on trucknet some time ago, forgot it was ECT doing it sleep

Agree on the H&S issues, but can't see why it couldn't be done. As far as CRB goes, I doubt many potential contributors have that, but I don't suppose the majority of ECT members have & with carefull planning I'm sure the kids safety could be assured (I guess most have carers or parents in attendance0.

Only an idea so far but I'm interested to hear what anybody thinks.

Sporting Bears might know the legalese associated with this kind of thing.

Not quite the same thing as you have in mind perhaps, but I do know of an motorbike club that do Easter egg runs for kids in hospitals. Christmas gift runs? might be loads easier on insurance.

East Coast Truckers do something like this each year.
