The Mrs birthday next month. We planned on dropping the little guy of at the in-laws (nr Fakenham) and go from there to Byfords B&B for the night. They are fully booked though ...

any other thoughts as to somewhere nice to take the Mrs?

You can borrow my tent. I often sod off to the coast & camp on the beach overnight on my own. How I don't get murdered by a Norfolk yokel I've no idea. hehe

I would recommend both Holkham & Crown Hotel, what a pain that they don't do single nights...frown

I will call Byfords tomorrow to see if the website really is accurate. I knew we should have booked it earlier .... rats

Shame about Byfords. I've not stayed there but have heard it's very good.

Make sure you stop in there for their famous home made cakes though smile I'm not saying they are big but, you need jaws like a crocodile to get your teeth round them!

I've heard the Feathers Hotel in Holt does reasonable rooms although not stayed there myself.

we eventually plumped for The Hoste Arms in Kings Lynn.

It looks very nice, and we are staying at the Railway Inn, so cheaper too though the Vine looks lovely.

I'm booked in there early next year, i've heard good reviews about it. Let me know how you get on, it looks good.

for you maybe!

We are dropping the kid (all 8 months of him) at the in-laws in Helhoughton then heading away for the night. Will be nice to not have to check on him before we sleep, and then get woken up at 7am ... I really have forgotten what a lie-in is!

hehe No not at this time of year! I did it quite often June-September though to clear my head & eat lots of good seafood! If you get up early enough you can buy really cheap fish off the fishermen, mmmm, breakfasts were delicious!
