Well nearly monthly meet time again.

Due to the Christmas bash on the 14th Dec, we have moved the Nov meet forward a week to the 23rd. We are also ,again, at a new venue : The Rose & Crown, Stanton. Its only about 2 miles from Ixworth on the A143. Map here.

This is the pub at which we are holding the Christmas bash, so its an ideal opportunity to check the place out before the 'main event'. They have a carvery on a Sunday lunchtime, and we have arranged a 'meal deal' as follows. Normal costs are £8.50 for carvery and desserts approx £3.95, but The Landlord has agreed an offer of £12.95 for a main course and choice of one of 2 desserts (one hot, one cold) and coffee, which seems pretty good.

We have a provisional booking for 15, but obviously I would like to be helpful to them and try and firm the number up. Booked for 1.00pm so aim to arrive around 12.30pm as usual.

So who's coming then ??

Yeah right. Two is pretty impressive. cool

Seriously though, I,m not sure were everyone has gone.confused I don,t seem to get hardly any responses to e-shots (or even read receipts) nowdays. The Comtec visit numbers aren't great to say the least, not a great response to the Christmas meal so far this year

Hey Ian,

I can probably make it on the 23rd. So me, plus one, are possibles. I wonder where everyone has gotten to. It is a wee bit quiet recently. I think it's all down to the fact I've broken the Cobra. Yes, that's gotta be it.

Anyway, I'll try & come along.

1) Winter
2) Quality not quantity - if you have 100 people you don't get to talk to them all smile

John, I think you are missing the point though. I have just checked the numbers on our e-shot list, and it currently stands at 162 members. Possibly 80% of them I can't say that I have ever met ! This year I have noticed that a few of the previous 'regulars' no longer attend events or meets. I know that people move on, and you can't do anything about that, but recently there just doesn,t seem to be any enthusiasm for events.

The forum itself if very, very quite (only 2 posts since I switched off at 6pm last night, not for the first time !).

Numbers for Comtec are disappointing to say the least, I currently have 8 for the meeting on the 23rd, and only 15 for the Christmas meal. If you think back a year, we had around 40 for the Christmas bash and a normal attendance of high teens into the 20's for even winter meets. What I can't understand is what has changed ? If it is that the group have no interest in what we are trying to put on then fine, but help us out by letting us know what you 'would' like to do. I must admit, I,m starting to wonder if I wish to continue organising events as things stand.

That's great news Phil ! I bet it was a sizeable bill from the 'clowns that shall not be named'.

Hey Ian, Kim and I up for sunday 23rd. Been sorting out my life since leaving the RAF so been realy busy (and working weekends due to shift work), but will be still attending as many gigs as I can. Also looking for a new car soon, time to change I think. Just trying to find something for my budget.
A certain 8 series BMW is looking quite nice at the moment.

Will see you on 23rd for a nice meal

cheers

Hi Ian

I take it there will be a veggie option as well as the carvery? If so count me in please.

Cheers

Hi Tom. I,m sure that there is a 'normal' menu as well as the carvery option, so you will be fine.
