Track Day 5th Jan - Pukie

OK have a friend who is putting together a track day just after New Years, understand a lot of you will be sunning yourselfs around NZ with the rest of the country, but, if you are like me and are going to work through Xmas & NY and take a break later in the year....here's a little treat you can grab before getting back into another year.......

Thursday 5th January, 2006
Rain or Shine
Time -
10.30am to 4.30pm
Format -
Strictly limited to 20 cars.
Sessions will last approximately 20 minutes with a short break in between to allow the track crossing to open.
Drivers may run in back-to-back sessions.
Depending on how the day goes, we may run some alternating sessions of 6 cars.
There may be a lunch break, depending on how everybody feels on the day.
Cost -
$150, payable with booking.
Safety -
The session will be controlled by the Circuit Manager, who is a qualifed first-aider.
Fire and recovery equipment will be present. There may be a charge for extinguisher use if you have a really bad day.
Helmets must be worn.
Overalls, or flame-retardent clothing (incl. cotton) which fully cover your arms and legs are recommended, as are fire extinguishers.
Indemnity -
An indemnity form must be completed and signed by all participants. This covers various butts in case of an accident, will be provided on the day.
Facilities -
The Jennian Homes clubrooms will be open for our use.
The loos will be open too.
The pedestrian bridge will remain closed.
Other Rules -
Pukekohe Park rules will be sent to those interested.
Of particular interest are the rules against children in the pits and alcohol, and the 95dBA noise limit.
NO DRIFTING (at least, on purpose)!
You may forward this invite on to others, but please use your judgement.
Polite track etiquette is expected - this is not a race.
Did I mention NO DRIFTING?
Hints and Tips -
Pack a lunch and plenty to drink.
If your car has a boot or you are bringing a "crew", extra petrol will save you a trip towards or into Pukekohe (depending on your preferred fuel type).
DO NOT DRIVE ON THE TRACK WITH EXTRA PETROL TINS IN THE CAR!!!
I (and I expect others) will have cameras on the day. If you would like some pictures of your baby, turn up early.

I see Dean has stolen my thunder! Well, actually he has pulled my finger out for me - I've been getting around to posting about this for over a week....
So, following on from a thread a couple of months ago, I am organising a private hire at Pukekohe as described above.
A correction to the details Dean posted:
Format -
Strictly limited to 20 cars.
Alternating sessions of 10 cars. Sessions will last approximately 20 minutes with a short break in between to allow the track crossing to open.
Cost
$160pp (my fault - I can't add!)
With only a maximum of 10 cars on the track at once, Pukekohe will be lightly populated, so this will be a much safer and more pleasant experience than a normal open day. It is also much better value, as you are very lucky to get more than 4 sessions during an open day, and those are generally crowded.
I need 20 participants - the sooner people book the better because there is strong interest and ONLY 20 places. If you are keen, please email me and I'll send you the circuit rules and organise payment. You can email me at:

No Worries
I'm picking up the XR8 today or in the weekend.
I drove the new SS ute which was alot more poised and I would prefer it,but the towing capacity is only 1600kg,against 2300 for the Ford.
The Aus brute utes will be here for 1 round early next year in Manfield,same meeting as the Super GT's.
