Minor windscreen repair? anyone?

Hi, I have picked up two annoying stone chips to my windscreen over the weekend, I'm very carful about not following too close and avoiding anything that looks like it will throw up stones or the like but alas it has happened. It's obviously not MOT failure territory but is already annoying the hell out of me.

I have read that it is possible to polish out minor chips? Is this a real possibility or will I just have to be driven slightly mad as the chip looks at me every morning and night or get a new screen?

If its not a DIY job, do you know anyone who could do it for me? Well, anyone who know's what they are doing.

They do, but they won't fix these, they are minor chips, plus if they were fixed with the stuff they put on it, it would be even worse.

Might have to resort to a brick....
