I know this is a bit of an old thread now, but have been working in Dover for just over 2 weeks now and always go M2/A2, never had an issue with traffic and it brings you right to the port entrance (handily where i work...)

Did they actually shut the M2/M20 though due to snow or due to a few accidents on the first day of it all, caused by lorries again which is nothing new around these parts nowadays anyway.

I decided to ignore the warnings and found the roads clear when I needed to use themconfused. I must say I did find it rather strange listening to the radio reports while driving along, saying bad conditions etc etc blah blah blah, all the while in reality I found no problems what-so-ever.
