Prior to the summer's enevitable "lets go to the beach", which Kent seaside town gets your vote for best combination food/beers/beach/quaintness?

Rye's nice but it's not in Kent

I quite like Herne Bay nothing special but I like it don't know why.

Herne Bay only because i live near by. Minnis bay is quite nice (Birchington) but not much to do there. Whitstable is a pain for parking. Broadstairs ?

Herne Bay is fine, I lived there until last week. Now in Birchington, Minnis bay is the beach a mile or two away, and its lovely down there in the Summer.

Whitstable gets very very busy

Dover - NO

Whitstable will always get my vote as I've got family there, i guess it depends on what you want from a day out - Birchington is very nice.

As a kid my grandparents lived in Broadstairs. I spent many summer school hols there. There used to be a couple of beaches that stayed quiet and were mostly used by locals doubt they are still quiet now though. I'm still drawn to the area though childhood memories and all that. Working in Margate a few weeks ago. Can't believe whats happened to that area

Other places may score better on one individual element, but as a combined package then definitely Broadstairs or Whitstable.

As much as it pains me to say it - Ramsgate or Broadstairs. Whitstable was nice 20 years ago. Hythe is a good shout.

Although it has already been mentioned and whilst only just out of kent, RYE would get my vote considering your original post ie food, beer, beach, quaintness.
plenty of good restuarants, fish & chips, italian etc etc, good drinking - pubs and bars, beach, well camber is only a couple of miles away so you could head there first then pop into Rye for beer and food, as for quaintness, Rye probably has it over others mentioned here.
