Nothing wrong with great Hollands... I live there, you would get a much more affordable house in great Hollands, there is a four bedroom house going n my street (vandyke) for £194,000 you wouldn't get a garage in Jenetts park for that.... Also the houses in great Hollands are bigger with bigger gardens.

I live on Goldfinch Crescent. Have been here since February and don't have any complaints about it. Yes, there are certain sections of the vast estate that are occupied by undesirables, but you get that in most places.
The things I like about Jennetts Park are location, especially for local travel routes (M4, A329, A322, M3), the houses themselves and the fact that the look and character of each property changes, meaning they don't all look identical, its locality to the pub (Peacocks Parm 2 minutes walk from most properties) and that it is more or less fairly peaceful. Kids play in the roads in some places, but there isn't an influx of traffic and the A329 is just far enough away to not be too loud in the mornings and evenings.
There are still areas that are unfinished (roads, pavements, additional community areas) which are being finalised gradually, as the rest of the developments are completed. I'm happy with the area though and happy with the house itself.

Im looking at the 3 bedroom semi detached places from Redrow. They seem good, at around 250k I reckon there must be some margin for haggling. It will be my first home too and one I would like to keep for at least 5 years. The location is great because its easy to get to Reading where most of my friends are, and my family are a 5 minute drive (Wokingham).

I'd avoid the Bloor Homes part of the site - closer to the A329M and the interior finish is not as nice as some of the others. Also, being tall I noticed Bloor's ceiling height was an inch or two less than the others, weird, guess it saved a few rows of bricks.
IMO make sure you find a plot with off-road parking, all these new estates with 'tight' cul-de-sacs have nightmare potential (parking and/or kids with bikes/balls causing accidental damage).

Parking can be a bit of an issue in some places, but most i've seen have an allocated space, or a garage behind or to the side of the property.
OP, it isn't a problem having Great Hollands round the corner. Doesn't seem to do anything for the prices themselves, and from what I've seen, all the developments in Jennetts Park are very pleasant.
There will be a local shop, community centre and the school opening withing the next year or so, so expect slightly more traffic from some people coming in from further afield.

Parking in some roads in Great Hollands is nearly impossible if you go there at the wrong time. I have firends that live there and used to have a grandparent there and quite often struggle to find somewhere to park when visiting. Althought the gardens are probably bigger than Jennett's park, they are alot smaller than some of the other older areas of Bracknell.

15 mins walking distance to Reading station, with Caversham centre on your doorstep. Quiet cul-de-sac though, with some of the more generous resident's parking for that part of town.
