Advice on a Golf

Might be looking at this at the weekend providing someone takes me car and if its still there. It's got all the options etc I'm after but the price is a bit more than I'd like.

anyone reckon I'd be too far off if I aimed to get this down to around 3k?

I would be suprised if they knock nearly 25% off the sticker price, IMO it is overpriced but I think that about every car, I could not get 10% knocked off a used car I saw a few weeks back and that had no tax so good luck.

Having had a look on Parkers for a price guide they are about right in terms of sticker price a little over but unless you want the small peace of mind you get from buying from a dealer, then you could save at least £500 - £1000 on a private sale at this price range ebay is better than autotrader.
