Hi there, checked the directory but the only wheel place was 45 minutes away, i've used a company a few years back on Slyfield Industrial Estate that did a fantastic job but not sure if they're still there...

My mates got some 18" Monza's for his Golf GTI to do which i think are diamond cut, he needs new tyres putting them on too.

I was quoted nearly £100 a wheel on my 19" diamond cut renault 250 alloys from a place in Byfleet but thought it was a tad steep...

Anyone know anywhere good & reasonable?

Cheers, Matt

Also very interested in the answer to this, I have some wheels for the winter which need sandblasting and painting, finish need not be perfect but I'm happy to pay a fair price.

I'm in Woking

You can try Smart Wheels, he is based around the guildford area. Think he is doing some work for Audi at the moment but he may have some spare time. His number is 07814256090. Just tell him exactly what you want and he should be able to give you a decent price over the phone. Failing that the place on slyfield is still there. Don't know if there is any truth in it, but apparently they have gone downhill.

Cheers

Talk about an odd spot, but are you based around knaphill? Been seeing a Renault similar to yours a few times travelling along lower Guildford road

I'm there everyday so now you know who to look out for.

Let me know if you have any luck with the refurb. I'm looking to go cheap really as they are going to be my winter set.

Cheers

Went to Wheel Wizard this morning, mate was pleased with the quote, £95 + VAT for the diamond cut VW wheels plus one needed painting, seems to be the going rate for this type of wheel. They also threw in balancing and fitting them on to his car too as my mate has 17" VW on at the moment. They should be done by monday- i've taken some before shots of the wheels so when they're on i'll get them up.
Oh and it looks like there's plenty of tread left on the tyre so he's going to leave the original tyres on for a while so they didn't need taking off the wheels.
Cheers Matt

PS Spurs Coupe i tried emailing you but it wouldnt let me could you email me first pls mate...
Thanks, Matt

Right well as i said above i'd get some pics up of the result....

Wheels were meant to be fitted today (monday) but Wheel Wizard rang me up Saturday said they were done and could be fitted already so we went down there the nice chaps swapped over the scuffed 17's for the beautifully refurbished 18's...
This is the before shot, second hand from eBay...

Not the worse condition alloys i've ever seen but all were scratched, scraped and had a few chunks of metal missing.

This is the result which looks absolutely stunning...(excuse the tired center caps some new ones are on their way)

This next shot is poor but these are the old 17"

And then the newly refurbished 18" wheels...

So wheels were £525 and refurb £425 = £950, saving £1000 over a new set JUST for the alloys no tyres from VW so a nice cheaper upgrade that looks factory fresh...

The tyres they came on had a fair few miles left on 2 and a couple of thousand on the other 2 which is a bonus so no need for a new set just yet
Mate is very pleased and we'd both recommend Wheel Wizard in Byfleet...

Matt

I used these guys for a Z4 wheel refurb about 2.5 years ago - quality was fine, but just a very surley chap.
