I have a cheeky question to ask.

At work (Vodafone) we are busy fundraising. We are aiming to raise £10k as part of an effort to eradicate obstetric fistula from Tanzania by 2016, improving the lives of 31,000 women.

I know the office is full of families meaning there is big kids and little kids who aree all car mad working all around the place, which got me thinking...

Is there anyone with a special car who would be willing to donate themselves and their vehicle so we can run an auction for 'win a ride in a <enter your amazing vehicle here>'?

Realistically it will probably be a couple of hours of your time, so to make it worth while I am happy to offer some time or 'financial benefit' of my own to anyone who volunteers:
- if you are on Vodafone then I should be able to make it worthwhile
- if not, then I am also a keen photographer. I'm not so good with cars to be honest, but I am more than happy to do a portrait session for you and partner/family etc.

Work is out in Newbury (aka Vodafone-city), but ultimately it would all be flexible. Who ever wins would be in touch to sort details of where and when. I can put any conditions needed on the prize up front, like winner must travel to XYZ or use on one of certain dates, so can work this around anyone who is kind enough to help out.

I can do either a M3 cab or a day out with a few friends off-roading in our jeeps.

Thanks all for the amazingly kind offers!

I'll have a chat with my team tomorrow and see what they think will be the best way to raise the most money possible given we clearly have enough volunteers to make something work with 1 or 2 special cars!

Once we have a view on dates etc I'll send some PM's to those who offered and see who's still keen.

I'm still amazed by the level of support offered in under 48hrs!

Hi All,

Thanks again for the amazing offers!

Apparently our (car mad) leadership team spent rather a lot of their weekly meeting today debating how on earth their team could possibly get so many offers to assist with such amazing cars in less than 48 hours! They were as awestruck with the generosity as I was and slightly jealous to match (not to mention slight confused as to who on earth I apparently socialise with!).

Miles Ahead gave a great suggestion that we try and pull together a 'night out' with a couple of cars ferrying a lucky couple to a meal out somewhere nice. I love this idea so my team has contacted a number of local restaurants to see if any are willing to provide support for this.

Once we hear back on that we should have a better idea of specific dates and times to come back to you all with to see who is still willing to assist.

Thanks all. You guys rock!

I wouldn't be too impressed, they are all garage queens. I mean he's barely put 8000miles on his GTO since spring.

Exactly you'll never find his less than a week old GTO hooning down tight country lanes being peppered with stones now would you??!! hehe
