Just wondered if anyone can recommend anyone. Looking for someone to advise on mortgages and investments. Ideally more the MacGyver type than Mr Bean - with that in mind feel free to PM me rather than add their details here smile

I've used Michelle Singlehurst (http://www.singlehurst-ifa.co.uk/) for years and years, and would highly recommend her! smile

Really knows her stuff about all sorts of mortgages and investments.

be very careful most will sell you what you dont want or need they will only sell you a product that pays them the most commission, i have just had a very nasty experience with one !
and i have also been misold a pension by a financial advisor

trust them at your peril !

I'm sorry but no. That's only a small group, my dad was a financial advisor and would never do anything like that, if you read everything you should be fine.

Thanks. I'll check and verify things before committing. All the really poor decisions made previously have been emotional ones connected with cars, impulse eBay buys, money mis spent with tuning outfits, thats the area really open to exploitation by ne'er-do-wells!

Unfortunately it seems that the "financial advisor" that you have dealt with was actually a con man. frown . There are criminals and wkers in all trades, but that doesn't mean they all are!
