Rally Experience. Any experience?

My mum and I want to get my dad a rally driving experience for his birthday. He's a very experienced performance road driver (ex-police) so we'd want a lot of hands on time in a decent car (RWD or 4WD ideally). Spend is probably £300 ish. Location, anywhere in the East Midlands or the South East.

Does anyone have any good recommendations please? (or places to avoid!!). Red Letter Day type things don't seem to give much hands-on.

Went to Silverstone Rally School a few years ago and it was very hands-on, very well organised.
