I have just spoken with my friend and both have been located & recovered.
A big thanks is passed on to the police.
Apparently the tracker systems did their job.

Thanks everyone for keeping an eye out. wink

Whilst not on commission, if you can afford it, a tracker is a good investment.

Yes I agree, they are fitted to my work trucks the 32 tonner cost £200k when I brought it new 12 years ago and my recent new 10 tonner about £150k if you consider whats been installed in it.

I don't bother with the cars as there not worth a great deal now.

AP's X5 must have cost £60k
But full credit to BiB as well as tracker.
Its also very easy to put a custom anti theft device which does stall theft as most car thieves know with modern vehicles if you have the key your away. you cant "Hot Wire" very easy with them.

A simple hidden wiring alteration would certainly stall a quick getaway even with the key.
Anyone trying to start the car would think the battery was near flat.
Trust me its works too.

Good point. As a student living in a crime ridden place my mini had a battery cut off under the carpet, cheap and effective.

I dont think so.
Maybe they parked up the vehicles to see if anyone turned up
following Tracker activation.
Personally I would like to see their digits cut off with a pair of garden clippers
while their balls are wired to the mains electric.

All being well I will be in said X5 on Saturday heading for Chelsea v Wigan game
full hospitality too smile
