Neighbour tries to close down kids playground

Any locals seen this story about a local ex-Concorde pilot and his GP wife are trying to get the Winkfield playground shut down because kids are noisy!!!!!!

I think i agree.I'm not sure he is out of order.
If he lived there first and then a play ground is put up, i can see how it would be annoying to hear screaming kids all day on a weekend.
Living next door to a recreation field is quite different to a play ground.
There has always been a playground there, I used to take my kids there when they were younger but last year the council finally splashed some cash and took out the old rusting equipment and replaced it with new stuff.
What is quite interesting is that the field is also used on Sat and Sun for football matches and the area gets clogged up with cars parking on the verges and the sound of amateur footballers swearing and screaming at each other!
When we used to go there more often or not there were no more than 5 or 6 kids playing there (because of the state of the equipment), however I drove past at the end of last summer and the place was heaving with a good 40+ kids playing there.
Long and short of it is that the field has always been a recreational space, and he was just lucky that he had a few years of peace and quiet before the council spent some money on making it a useable recreational space!
If the proposed local plan goes through and the 10,000 odd houses planned for the area get approval he will have a lot more than noisy kids to worry about!!
I like the quote about his profession though; Outside court he said: ‘The airplanes around Heathrow are very quiet now. We don’t hear them where we are.’
Utter bullsh17, I live in Binfield (3 miles away) and depending on the approach being used to Heathrow we hear the planes loud and clear – but we knew we were near the flight path when we bought the place…………

I can imagine that most of the time it was quite quiet which was probably nice and now they've got a lot more noise a lot more of the time but FFS, he lives in a residential area where there are residents who do things. I'm sure I might prefer a quieter park if I were them but its not on to try to close down other people's fun because a bit of noise.

How on earth can an ex-Concorde pilot complain about noise ??!! Although they did have various take-off tricks to pass the noise meter tests and noise objectors (or so i read somewhere)...
