The only garage I can think of in Burghfield is called the Forge Garage http://www.forgegarageburghfield.co.uk/ is that the one?

Cheers - but it's not garage - i's a mobile (ie roving) mechanic. Might need to ping an SMS to everyone on my phone who's name I cant recall eeek

OK then, failing that.. can anyone recommend a good mobile VW savvy mechanic that can come fit a new cam belt etc May need the water pump doing too, VW tell me. Not anti dealer, just dont like their price so much.

Yeah? What did he think? I always find them helpful! Last repair he did for me was only £50 and I'm sure a lot of garages would have charged £150+
