That would be smashing, I plan to see if Euro Car Parts have the right pads and any copper grease tomorrow, so whenever you're up is fine. Where would I need to drop them back to?

Don't bother with copper grease. Euros sell Cera-tec (made by pagid and/or textar) it's the only stuff I use when doing brakes now.

Does the same job?

I won't need anything other than pads, some grease/cera-tec, something to wind the piston back in with and some spanners/socket set, right?

Yeah it's a high temperature brake grease.

Are you doing fronts or rear? Calipers will be held on with either 7mm Allen key or 13mm bolts. Rear calipers need a wind back tool, fronts just need to be pushed back in. Wire brush/file to clean up the surfaces where the pads go. And make sure you pump the pedal up slowly when your done before you drive off!

Just the front pads, state of the rear shoes is unknown, but I was advised that my front pads were 80% worn at MOT 6months/4k ago and I'm fed up of the floppiest brake pedal ever, and little stopping power!! Switching between two cars is doing my nut as ones got weak, floppy brakes, the other has really firm, powerful brakes. Almost miss junctions in one, stand the other on its nose!

That sounds plain dangerous for you & potentially others too.

Anyway, worn pads alone don't usually make for a floppy pedal. If it hasn't been done in the last year or so, change the fluid and properly bleed the whole system, easy enough to do while you're changing the pads. Have a good look at the flexi hoses and consider renewing those too.

I know, it's not great, but I haven't had the money, last few months of University. Now I have a little bit, it's the first thing I want/need to do. I believe the fluid was changed when it was serviced a few days before I picked it up just over a year ago as the car turned 2.

If u need another set of hands then just shout, I'm only around the corner. Funnily enough it was my 207which was the only car I've not changed discs and pads on. But it's all pretty standard stuff.

I completely lied, checked my blog and yep looks like I put mintex discs and pads on it lol. Have to say they were decent brakes, so would recommend them, cheapest on eBay I do believe! :-P
