The oil burning Beemer is going, and I've decided that i want a taste of teutonic V8, with the added extra of "wind through the hair" convertible roof.

A Merc CLK 55 AMG seems to fit the bill, but those advertised on here and the 'trader don't do it for me. i've seen three so far... poor show all of them frown

Budget is £12k max, 2003 onwards, mileage must be under 60k. I would prefer black, blue or silver - what can my sleuth-like chums dig up for me?

There is a seat at the TOD for the person who finds the right car smile

Couple at that price, seems a huge amount of car for the money!

Thanks Matt. I did look at the S4, and may come back To it, but the Merc Clk 55 AMG still shouts at me. My OH has a 4.2 V6 A4 cabriolet, so I really want something different.

As you say, you get a lot of big-engined car for this budget, I guess I just have to sit tight and wait for the right one to come along.

This looks like it could be worth closer inspection even if it is slightly over the mileage requirement tongue out

SL500's are creeping into view at that money....2 seats an issue? Non-AMG-man points an issue?

BMW 645 cabrio....not a particularly "stressed" engine again but that's what the Pony's for right?

Both include a little flexibility on the mileage.

Left field (just about the only other V8 cabrio in the price range..!):

Thanks for the input guys, keep 'em coming.
I wanted a lower mileage as I will be using this as my daily drive, and will want to have something worth selling in about 30k miles time (2-3 years).

I've kind of set my heart on the Merc, for absolutely no rational reason, however the Jagwahrrr and 6 series Beemer are possibilities, but I'm not so keen on the wood interior trim. I've had a lot of that over the years, and love the ally trim of the AMG.

Have found one that I am going to see on Monday evening, and another one I am calling about this afternoon - in Wales frown

What else should i be looking at?

I hear Ferrari's are nice? hehe

Struggling for anything that will have a proper engine, 4 seats and a moving roof that hasn't already been mentioned, a 645 / 650 if you can find a nice one would be a good bet but I think they're over budget for the miles.

Stretch the budget a bit:

Closer to budget if the link works:

I did wonder if the top one was a Bracknell car however whatever doesn't kill it, makes it stronger, right? hehe

I'd love to know what ended up happening with your original silver one!

Saw the ad about an hour after he posted it. I have an appointment for Monday evening. He seemed li a straight bloke, and the car is in the fastest colour smile in the right condition (I've now seen 4 and they were all shabby) and at the right price, that could have my name on it!
