Car parking
The charge for car parking is £2 per visit for up to four hours. Customers who pay on the day to use the science exhibition at The Look Out Discovery Centre will have their parking charge deducted from the entry price. You can also buy an annual permit, which will cost £60 for Bracknell Forest residents and £100 for non-residents.
There are pay and display machines in the car park. Payment options include cash or card.

If you buy an annual cycling pass, that does get deducted from the parking charge.
However, it is very disappointing. Having to pay for cycling there is bad enough (although it's not particularly expensive I guess) but having to pay to park there as well seems very unfair.
There is actually another entrance to Swinley forest without a proper car park - parking for just half a dozen cars - which is closer to me anyway. I'll be using that from now on.

There were some interesting sums floating around in the local press earlier this year.
I cannot remember exactly what math was applied, but assuming the car park was at 75% capacity every day of the year from open to close, it would take 18 months before the scheme would break even after the cost of implementation and administration was taken into account.
Does make you wonder if those behind the scheme took into account the obvious drop in revenue that will happen in the cafe once people start going elsewhere for their weekend walks!
I know when I have taken the kids there in the past it is rare that I get away without buying them a cake or ice-cream, and after a good session thrashing the MTB around the forest usually stop for a bacon roll and cuppa tea....

Honestly, this is becoming one massive joke.
TBH, I cycle there a lot and the MTB trails are excellent, most of them are well hidden from walkers etc so unless you are into MTB-ing you probably don't appreciate what is available in them there woods......
I pay about £25 a year for my annual cycling pass that gives me public liability insurance and goes towards the upkeep of the trails. You might not think public liability insurance is required, but I have been hurtling down singletrack at 30+ mph and have met families on their Sunday walk wandering up; the possibility for a 'coming together' is quite high. If they decide to take my middle aged ass to court for scalping one of their kids with my peddle I would probably be thankful I spent the £25!!!
Personally, I don't mind spending the £25 for the year given how much I use the place, I am happy to contribute towards the upkeep of the trails, and its good to know I have insurance cover if I do collide with a group of walkers.

I think the comments re: Sainsburys are right though, bet they're chuffed at the thought!
