Can anyone recommend a good custom exhaust manufacturer for my westfield My muffler box is dying and the existing manifold if pretty rubbish. I have been recommended Torque Technique and vortex exhausts I was wondering if anyone knows someone a bit more local who could make one up. Its for an mk1 1.6 MX5 based car.

Thanks

How local?

I used PowerFlow in Slough when my midsilencer fell off and they put a straight through on in its place.

No complaints, very quick, works a treat and sounds great.

Not a complicated job though I suppose!

Torque Technoque is on the Red3 bus route to the railway station - or enjoy a 35 min walk - then get the train home.

I used these chaps to make a stainless steel exhaust for my kit car.

They are in the middle of nowhere though, so best to get dropped off. Having said that, Langley train station is probably 2 to 3 miles away if you know where you are going.

I used a car builder solutions silencer on mine and is very nicely made. If you have a mazda kit, maybe the westfield standard manifold pipe and this silencer will work out cheaper than a full custom jobbie.

Edwards Motorsport in West Drayton are by far the best fabricators I've seen in a long time.

Small outfit that spends all money on equipment and customer satisfaction.

I use them for all my exhaust/fabrication needs.

http://mulgari.com/performance-exhaust-systems. They did a custom exhaust for me race car. Good chaps not too expensive and nice premises. BAsed about 5 miles away from Bracknell with easy parking for car and trailer. Owner is ex race tech and ex BMW Bracknell tech.

Just a FYI for everyone in the Berkshire area.

I was looking for a Custom Exhaust place yesterday, as i need an urgent Downpipe repair. And unfortunately Longlife Basingstoke are booked up for a month in advance pretty much.

After some searching i found a new place in Newbury, Just off the big Hambridge Rd crossroads.
Berkshire Garage. They build custom exhausts at very competitive prices compared to some of the others.

I bought a car in December with Powerflow back-boxes, but one didn't have the rear hanger on it for some reason.

So after finding Powerflow in Slough I rang on Wednesday and booked it in for this morning.

Naz cut a length of stainless bar, bent it to shape and welded it on in about 30 minutes for £30 - result!

A mate bought a Direnza exhaust for his Focus ST, which was all over the place and the main issue was the tips were not welded on straight. He bought some different tips and this chap welded it all up for him and did a great job. So, can recommend him as well.
