Audi Specialist Reading

Hi all,

Moved to Reading end of 2024, my B8.5 RS5 needs a new battery I suspect as the dash randomly lit up yesterday but cleared after a longer drive. Does anyone have any recommendations/places to avoid for a decent indie? Ideally I'd like to find one where I know I can take my car and it'll be treated well like my old place in South Wales!

I've been on a search for an Audi specialist to look after my B7 RS4 and am currently giving The Phirm in Camberley a go.

Hoffman's in Henley I would have used also, although they're not cheap.

MDM Technik - also just outside Henley - seemed to get good reviews too.

Wouldn’t be using the phirm personally, they may have improved but they had a habit of shoddy work a few years back.

Hoffman’s has only had positive feedback on the other hand, have used them myself too.

Interesting.

We did use The Phirm for a few years until about a year ago when the wife took her car to them and told them we thought a wheel bearing had gone (humming noise that changed with road speed), and they told us it was a gearbox bearing.

It was in fact a wheel bearing.

At that point, we stopped using them.
