Anyone who uses the Hogsback (A31) will have noticed roadworks on the side of the road.

We all probably hoped they were fixing holes, adding extra signage to junctions or in some way trying to make the road safer.

What they have done is to add places for Police cars and Camera vans to hide.

Today when I passed the van at 60 (within the 60 limit) a speed of 70 would have been very safe.

Ah well

Brian

Wouldn't it have been better to spend the money fixing the awful road surface?

I use the A31 most days, sometimes late at night, and have for many years without incident. >100 in a decent car is safe enough (in the absence of the all too frequent fog, and the as frequent dawdling drivers). If only the undulating tarmac was improved. Then again, that would lessen the fun to be had from the hog's back!! I say improve the quality of the road surface, and fine those who refuse to "keep left unless overtaking"!
