Why do you want to do it with the wheels on the car??

I think it's because some people believe that you are not only balancing wheels but instead you are balancing play in the driveshaft aswell so this should eliminate any 'wobbling'.

I have never done it myself so I can't really speak from experience but the only time my wheels ever wobbled after being balanced was when I drove over a pothole and slightly buckled the front near side alloy. frown

Balancing a wheel on a car has no benefit.
You need to balance the wheel and tyre off the car and get it perfect (i.e. less than a 5 gram weight out).

If you then have some sort of wobble when driving the car it is because of a problem. Balancing the wheels on the car is just masking the problem (which will get worse).
