My alloys' need some serious TLC. Fronts are curbed and getting ever more caked in brake dust. Even more paint/laquer just flaked off one of the rears during washing the car frown

I know some of you recommend BJV engineering which looks a reasonable price but is rather a long way for me and potentially awkward to get to without my car (plan to leave the car there if I use them).

Any other places nearer to Reading worth checking out?

I could do that I suppose. Never actually left a car totally on axle stands before.

John, try Prestige just round the corner from you - they do all the repair work and wheel refurbs for Coopers BMW and Broughtons and quoted me £50'ish each to refurb the BMW wheels (19")... They also replaced the tow-bar and did some cosmetic bits on the Disco and did a superb job! And you can leave the whole car with them.

There's also a mobile guy that Camberley Audi use, and he covers the Thames Valley so I'll email them and ask for his number. Apparently very good, reasonably priced and does it at your home!

Wouldn't use Esh!te Wheels off Portman Road - had 2-3 dealings with them and always had to go back because they did something wrong...

Well I'm looking to get all 4 of mine done on the RS6, so feel free to ask what discount they'd give for two cars?!

Chaps I contacted this place today. Lady I spoke to on the phone quoted they do BMW wheels for £85 each. Not sure which BMW wheel she was referring to (I imagine shiny E46 M3 wheels are more expensive than most!). Bottom line is they need to view the wheel in question before quoting a price which is perfectly reasonable. Unfortunately not open Sat so this is slightly tricky for me so I'm either going to email photos or attempt to get there by 17:30 one Friday (won't be this one for sure). Good news is they are open to a group discount. You two could email pictures to me if you wish and I could forward them on.

Cheers.

Best one I've used by a mile, cheap and they properly strip them:

http://www.wheelrefurbishing.com/ - BJV engineering, they collect and deliver them back when they're done with or without the current tyres.

I'm also intersted in this thread - the wheels on my M5 have been light/mediumly curbed by the previous owner which I want to get done. From speaking to another owner who is a pannel beater by trade, E39 M5 wheels are tricky to do right as they have a black undercoat and silver over the top. Well that is what he said, and claimed to have done a set years ago, unlike me....

BVJ do have a photo of my wheels on their site, so they might actually have done a set! smile

Which is fine if you have a spare set of wheels lying around... frown

John, if I ever get my car back, I'll be taking it to BJV. I know the owner there and am pretty sure I can get you a good price as long as you don't want a receipt wink

So here's the deal, I'll follow you up there, you leave your car there and I'll drive you back. When your car is ready, I'll drive you there, leave my car and you drive me back. When my car's ready, you run me back.

Been using BJV for years, must have put at least a dozen sets of wheels (mine and some friends) through them, always happy, always fast, always good value.

I like the idea of an RS6 on bricks hehe

I agree it's a pain but it's only for a few days, really wish I'd taken some before / after photo's of my wheels now but there wasn't really enough time.
