Im looking at getting the back garden brought upto date with a new patio area, paving and raised borders.

Can anyone suggest a decent builder/gardener in the Reading area who isnt going to cost the earth.

I would THOROUGHLY recommend my local guy. He's well respected locally, damn cheap, and has also been used by another SASer, and he has the same opinion. I can dig his details out if needed. He's located in Sunningdale (but does not quote "Sunningdale" rates (=££££).

I thought "not costing the earth" was quite subtle too. wink

One of my mates has his own gardening business, worth a try not sure on prices.

It should look nice, BTW, it was a shedload of money! My wife did the design and Mark (the guy who owns the firm) and his lads did the hard landscaping work with patio slabs and block paving, delivered soil and laid the turf. We did all the planting work like digging in st ourselves. I shovelled three tons of the stuff from the front of my house to the rear...

They're nice lads, trustworthy.

Can anyone recommend someone down Surrey way? - Croydon - I had a chap come round 10 days back and is yet to quote and I've lost his number.

Spring/Summer is threatening to appear so I'm ready to sign-off.

Cheers,
D
