Why did I have a feeling my name would be in here? hehe

I'm up for it but to be honest, I'm probably not going to have the time to organise it in the coming months.

I am however happy to give someone a hand in organising it. smile

Just sent you a PM Alex. smile

Esher is a good venue and they do have great karts but I'd be quite keen to try a few other places with fast karts too.

I've been to some shocking karting places in my time and when the karts/tracks are st it just isn't fun.

Thanks, been looking at Thruxton and it looks a good track and the cars have onboard lap timing biggrin

Haven't emailed yet but a GP event with 8 min practice (6-7 laps) then 2 x 8 lap heats then 12 lap final would be around £60 ea. 1100 m track and 60 mph thunder karts. Based on a weekday event, or weekend is about £10 more.

They do an endurance type team event too £220 per team, and a 2hr event so 2 x 15 min each I would say and a 30 min qualifying.

What do people think, is week day do able for most or does it need to be a weekend?

Oh and the Thruxton karts are 13 bhp whereas Sandown are 5.5 biggrin

I'd be interested although it has be be a weekend (and ideally Saturday) and I have very few free weekends coming up either. The next would is early June. (6th)and then possibly one in July. (11th)

I've driven at Thruxton a few times, its much faster than Sandown and smoother too.

Other options could be Daytona MK or Whitton Mill.

I want to make up for last year when I was recovering from a bug and had to retire 10 minutes from the end to avoid throwing up in my helmet!hurl

I think the dates will have to deconflict with quite a busy summer of events, WSR Tour, Le Mans etc. So maybe the start of July or something sooner than Le Mans?

I disagree they are great karts at Esher. My kart was utter ste last time - only single engine for the first session and blatantly slow even on both (I'm neither that fat nor slow! wink).

I'd rather try somewhere else. Not interested in going to Esher again. Done it twice now anyway.

hehe

I guess I've been lucky when I've gone there as they've always been pretty quick.

Wherever we go, I think I need to take a pre-race dump. That'll remove valuable weight. wink

ETA - I love the sounds of having a more powerful kart. Just need to improve my power to weight!

There is a new one opened on the Slough Trading estate, I'll see if I can find some details and post them up.

Here we go.

That place looks pretty good for an indoor track driving

I did a 2.5hr endurance race last night at team-sport in Camberley and i'm absolutely knackered today... however i'd definitely be up for coming along/lend a hand to organise.

Does anyone know of anywhere apart from Club100 that offers 2-stroke karts? If not then that Thruxton track looks pretty decent (not been there myself yet).

Yup, Daytona in Milton Keynes are the only place other than Club100 that do 100cc National's (called the DMax). A bit more expensive than Pro Karts but a hell of a lot more fun!!!

Brilliant track too (but Thruxton is better IMO).
