We have to have a joining weekend here! I'm on the way down to Cornwall for some surfing and took a detour across the moor.

The roads are fan-bleeding-tastic! At least as good as the roads I've done in wales, with equally awesome views. I'm just letting the Swift cool down as it was sliding around a bit and the ESP is now stuck off for some reason biggrin

Just make sure your brakes are in good condition if you tackle Porlock and Countisbury Hills wink

SAS did it two years ago, the clotted cream run. I'll dig out a link to the pics later...

Exmoor's my favourite stomping ground. If you know what you're doing the correct route is Bampton - Raleigh's Cross - Wheddon Cross - Dunkery Beacon - Porlock - Woolacombe. biggrin

Ah, thought you may have beat me to it. I've got some pics of my little run too that'll probably be up tomorrow.

If you do go there (and it is the best place in the world) - I admit to being biased.... please be careful on the A358 - main road between Taunton and Minehead (it's a real accident magnet - mainly due to crap driving and too many caravans / coaches in Summer.

and watch out for the sheep / ponies on the roads - nearly did for me early one Sunday morning on the motorbike....

Try an alternative to the coast road by going across the Brendon hills, from Roadwater to Raleghs Cross, then Exford..Dulverton... then....
