Hi all,

Just a quick ask to see if anyone has a spare sky box we could borrow for a couple of weeks, as ours has broken, and the engineers are going to take an age before they can come round to have a look at it...

They told me 2-3 weeks too, so I just said "OK I'd like to cancel please as I'll just switch to Virgin as they're quoting 1 week for a new install."

Engineer with new Sky box turned up the next day... smile

I fear that mine might be on it's way out.

Have you tried a full reset of the box?? Mine died and i borrowed another for 6 months till i found out how to reset it, takes about 2 mins

I've done resets - both hard and soft in the past.

Only problem is that I've got a ton of stuff recorded and needs viewing - and I can't afford to lose it all paperbag

Thanks for the offers guys!

Fraser I'll take you up if you don't mind as you're nearer! However we don't have SkyHD subscription (or an HD telly), or even a Sky+ dish, do you think it will still be compatible?

John - thanks for the heads-up. We're probably going to cancel sky unless they can offer something to make us stay. We just don't use it enough to justify the subscription, but with Ben around I can't deal with talking to them on the phone for another 2 hours!!

If you threaten to cancel, especially if you say you are going to switch to Virgin Media, they will offer you some pretty good deals to stay.

The deals tend to centre around giving you the top package for half price for a year, stuff like that.

Andy - you coming to the pie shop?

its amazing how many sky boxes i have fixed by simply replacing the fuse inside. mainly alot off the sky+ boxes done a couple of hd. i need some one tho who can resetup are dish as the installer did a naff job and some channels do not work properply.
