I'm organising a bijou NSX Club do on Sunday 4th October, heading off x-country from Wantage to Popham (A303) at 7:00, the intent being to go via some nice roads to the Little Chef a la Heston Blumen-eck for some Olympic fryups or posh scrambled oeuf.

All of this is weather permitting - if it's hoofing down I can't be arsed getting up early, but if the weather is good, there's always the option of carrying on south east after breakfast to catch the last couple of hours of the Goodwood Breakfast Club (Maserati Magnifica - a Tribute to the Trident and other Italian Icons).

There may be one or two other marques coming along for the ride... anyone else interested?

cheers, Ewan

If you were heading South from Wantage, early on a Sunday, what do you think the best road to take would be hehe

reminder bump.

The plan is to head off from the Lord Nelson, 78 Charlton Road, Wantage, Oxfordshire, OX12 8HL at 7:00am. Should be arriving at Popham for 9am.
If the weather's anything like it was when I drove the route earlier today, it will be splendid. Watch out on the entry to the pub car park (it's a bit of a steep ramp, as evidenced by the many gouge marks in the roadway). If in doubt, park on the road smile

We have a couple of NSXs and a slew of Boxster/Caymen types thus far, more welcome.

Cool - I'll confirm again by the end of the week: one idea is to meet a bit earlier and then split up at Popham so those who want to can head down to Goodwood. If we met at 7am and aimed to be at Popham around 8-8:15 that could still mean arriving at Goodwood for 9ish.

OK, looks like we're go for Sunday. Weather forecast is currently sunny intervals, 15-16 deg C, sunrise at 7:10.

So the plan is to meet up at the Lord Nelson at 6:45am for a 7am depart, aim to be at Popham for 8ish and either stay there for brekkie, or carry on to Goodwood to catch some of the Breakfast club (should be arriving 9ish so still a couple of hours left).

Sounds like a good run. I might come along depending on what else I get up to this weekend. Is there a satnav ITN file? Quite happy to just make sure I keep up if not! wink

I'm out for this now. Going to do the run to Goodwood Breakfast club from Guildford instead. Believe it or not the slightly earlier start time swung me a bit! wink

Have a good one smile

no worries. The plans changed to depart at 7am, so if you do arrive at 7:30, you might be on your own smile
