1st Tuesday Club (Part 3)
Discussion
Hey All
It's time to get some 'fresh entrepreneurial blood' into the club in advance of the next meeting on October 6th, 8pm, venue TBC by email. It's been a success to date with lots of us making really decent progress on the businesses and whether people have something really small that's just kicking off or something substantial, the networking, support, friendship has been really great. Here's a repost of the original message, please PM me if you want details of the venue/so I can compile a list, book somewhere suitable.
Gentleman/Ladies
I have been toying with an idea for some time and just wanted run it by y'all:
As well as working like a dog on my day job I have also set up and run various business side ventures over the past few years, for various reasons, including most recently to give my parents a supplementary boost to their pension/s, help mates pursue business ideas they might have been kicking around and to which I can add something, however small that might be (usual writing proposals). Of course most of this 'business development' is a fairly solitary thing, evenings and weekends much to the annoyance of course of my long suffering wife.
Anyway, years ago I remember reading Think and Grow Rich, and the only thing I remember about it was that that it mentioned the importance of a 'Mastermind Group'. A bunch of people who met regularly and discussed, helped, cajoled, inspired, wound up their fellow entrepreneurs over tea/buscuits/beers. I was thinking that anyone involved in either running, developing or just considering setting up a business probably has lots of stuff they could share and be happy to contribute ideas, help others get around 'challenges' (to use business-speak) that others have. We all have connections that might be helpful to others and no doubt give perspectives from other industries that might cross-fertilise.
I was thinking of starting a 'First Tuesday PH Business Club', at my house and maybe then rotating around various people's places depending on who offers a kitchen table and refreshments, on a monthly (1st Tues) basis. The plan would be a kind of 'tell others your story, what difficulties you're facing, get feedback', move to next person - session, for about a couple of hours say, after dinner 8pm - 10pm, maybe at a house followed by beers down the local. The idea being of course to help everyone make more money, get ideas off the ground etc, every little helps n all that.

Quite often someone has an idea and they just want to see if the group would participate/buy whatever it is they are proposing, so even just being there to give 'man in the street' feedback to an off the wall concept is a great contribution. We've had people (well me) turn up with a comical idea and have it fashioned into a far more sensible and commercial concept in the space 15 minutes with help of the sales&marketing/internet/entrepreneurial geniuses who've attended

Count me in if you'd like, always happy to listen and give any help I can
Coolio, I'll PM you when we have a place to go for October, November looks like it will be in Maidenhead and I will email details for both. I was thinking of organising an early Xmas meal for the December one.

I would come if you're missing any internet type people ...
We're missing internet people! We have lots of internet based ideas but lack of technical expertise/experts, personally I have some ideas for web businesses but not the expertise to create them nor the money to pay someone to develop them to a professional level but...a real willingness to partner/part with 'equity' with a technical guru

Ohh! I thought this never got off the ground. Did I miss the first meetings? Would love to be involved but going to be on honeymoon for the next meeting.
Can I be kept in the loop about further meetings please?
Sorry there were a few who responded the first time around who I don't think got on the email invite/s to the meetings, I was just a bit disorganised in the early days so my apologies. Now things are a bit more sorted and I will email everyone who's responded (with details of the venue etc) err, today! Can I be kept in the loop about further meetings please?
Hewlett - This sounds like a great idea, I run a Online Marketing / SEO Business & am based in Fleet. I'm always interested in networking and would certainly appreciate some good business advice.
If this is the sort of thing you are looking for then I'd be very interested in coming along.
