As title really, got the in laws coming for Sunday lunch. So I need to find a decent restaurant for this Sunday. My first choice was The Cottage Inn in Winkfield, but they are fully booked. All sugestions gratefully received.

Cheers Roy

ETA I'm in Bracknell so about 30 mins or so away would be handy.

Had a really nice Sunday lunch the other day at The White Oak in Cookham, not sure where you are however maybe too far North.

Decent restaurant you say scratchchin
Well, if you were thinking of The Cottage Inn, a meal at Anticos in Henley is similarly priced and I love the food there. http://www.anticorestaurant.co.uk/
If however you wanted to stretch the budget a bit further (or if someone else is paying hehe) there's
Lortolan in Shinfield - http://www.lortolan.com/ or The French Horn - Sonning - http://www.thefrenchhorn.co.uk/ the latter being a fantastic location if the weather's nice.

Thatched Tavern in Cheapside or Bricklayers in Windlesham. Same company have both. Menu's are similar. Excellent value & great food.

Yep, I used to like that and the Crispin just near the great park and they've fked both up if you ask me, neither are really what Roy is looking for though I think.

London Street Brasserie in Reading was quite good last time I was up that way. What sort of place are you looking for? If it's just a Sunday lunch I can recommend a Toby Carvery!

Same, had a great meal there about a month ago. Dropped by 2 weeks ago, on a Saturday night, but it was full (bugger).
Ended up going over to the Brickmakers, which I had never visited before, and had a rather nice meal.

Try The Crown at Playhatch - straight up the A329, along A4, across Sonning Bridge and just a couple of mins further - always works a treat.
