So, come on then chaps (and ladies), how much power-to-weight can we conjure up for how little money?

No NOS, i'm thinking forced induction or pure old fashioned capacity.

E.g.
Toyota Supra Twin Turbo, 326bhp/1.6tonnes/£5k = 40.75bhp/tonne/£k
Westfield Megablade, 125bhp/0.5tonnes/£6k = 42bhp/tonne/£k
Celica GT4, 250/1.2/3 = 69.5bhp/tonne/£k

Game on!

MK3 Supra Turbo Manual 231bhp (I think) and about a grand if you can find one.

ETA: So it's in at 1540KG for a manual, http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1220139.htm this is £1,500

So that's 231bhp/1.55/£1,500 or 99.35bhp/tonne/£k and can be modded to make it quite a bit faster for not silly money.

The 75's I've seen recently have been quite expensive, I think they are getting rarity value.

Should be able to get a 146ti for the same sort of weight & money though, but only 150/155bhp.

Need to get cheaper though. How about:

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1287843.htm

155 widebody 2.0l, 150bhp/1.3 tonnes (about, not checked)/£250 = 462BHP/tonne/K biggrin

Can anyone find a Fiat Uno Turbo for a tenner wink

i was never very good at math (also 6 Stella dont help) so if anyone can do the but a mi16 pug 205 weighs about 800kgish, mine has 190bhp and cost £2k but you can get them for about a £1k (usually with neon lights and other "chavstic" mods)

Anyone care to figure that out please???

Call it £1.5k?

So 190/0.8/1.5 = 158bhp/tonne/£k

I was looking at a mini turbo powered NCF Blitz, road legal version. Half a tonne and 120bhp (the most highly tuned 1275 engine), 240bhp/tonne for very little money. The guys at NCF vow to fit 'any engine' to their Blitz frame, so, find a cheap and powerful engine (Rover T16 220bhp?) 440bhp/tonne for beer money smile
