Insurance Valuation help
Discussion
Having my car valued soon by the insurance for them to finally sort out a payout after my accident 2 months ago. anyone any ideas on what i should be looking at?
Car details;
51reg
1.8t VRS
55,000 miles
Magic Black
Very good condition bodywork
Full VAG SH till august 2007 - then I have receipts for all Items purchased for servicing to present.
No MOT
12months Tax
Remapped to circa 210bhp
I'm hoping for around 4k but knowing insurance anyone able to give me a guide? as I'll be miffed off with anything less than 3.5k tbh. I owe around 4k on the finance but it was not a car loan it was a personal loan.

No abuse, just that insurance companies like to bend you over for things like that.
Just be prepared. As long as the rest of the car is still in good enough shape that you can prove it WOULD have passed an MOT (tyres, brakes, etc.) then you shouldn't have a problem.
I reckon private sale a replacement car would cost £4k, and you can find similar cars on autotrader and PH classifieds and so on.
If they try to lowball you just send them copies of the adverts for similar cars.

Without trying to be a prophet of doom or deviate too much from the OP , won't the Insurance company baulk at this? Surely if it had no mot, it shouldn't have been on the road (unless it was being driven to an MOT appt
)and as such, the Insurance Company may refuse to pay out point blank?

They'll probably knock 10% off or something. Assuming it wasn't going to fail.
)and as such, the Insurance Company may refuse to pay out point blank?Police are fine with it, the car was 100% roadworthy and it was 2 days overdue, cant believe I had completely forgotten as im usually spot on and get them done 1 month in advance. Police have gone over both cars with a fine tooth comb as the lad who hit me nearly died. Insurance company are aware also and have said its fine but they will take a percentage off. Turns out it doesnt invalidate insurance which i have to thank my lucky stars even if the accident was completely non fault.
il aim for 4k from them then and take it on the chin the rest.
how does it work now, does my insurance company pay me and then chase it back from the TP insurance? as I need to claim for the stereo and damage to glasses etc.
