Picture the scenario, it's Saturday night and Strictly Come X Factor is on. You fancy going out for an hour's blast rather than see if 'The Twins' fail to pull off the Waltz. If we all had a text group of people that lived within say, 5 or 6 miles, the questions could be asked 'fancy a hoon, 9pm - 10pm, start at Bracknell'? Is this a mad idea, would anyone participate?

I much prefer the morning hoon.
If i'm not driving, i am likely to have had a beer or two by 9 or 10 pm drunk

That's a good point (beer-wise), I'm thinking more supplementary hooning to the Sunday ones as they are quite a few weeks apart usually, like the one John D posted about recently during the week, maybe insomniac 1am hoons, it would just be good to have the opportunity for quick blasts with others rather than going out 'solo' as it were.

Not a bad idea. Night time hooning is off the menu for me though until I get some better headlights sorted!

+1 to that and insomniac runs.

Also 9-10pm ? Top Gear is on... at least this week is it at that time.

My Saturday nights usually involve some alcohol - so a definite no-no for me.

I nearly always go out for a drive on Sunday afternoons.

Well it doesn't have to be Saturday nights, I gave John's mid week thing by way of example of other times. It could be any time during the week, day time or night time, if I worked with or lived next to a keen hooner I'd occasionally ask 'fancy a run from Bagshot to Farnham and back via Pirbright in about 2 hours time'. This idea would just mean we could all have a group of people we give the option of last minute/'I've got an hour spare' hoons to. Being a bit of a techie I could even set up a password protected website where runs are posted and people automatically texted whenever a new run is logged.

Sounds like a good idea. Bagshot - Farnham - Pirbright hmmm that sounds familiar hehe I think I'm just up the road from you.

I like the sound of that.

I also like the sound of that Bagshot to Farnham route. I will do that this afternoon.

I came from the Brookwood end at about 2:45.

The "Road Closed" signs were placed a bit inappropiately(sp?). I found myself trying to do a "U" turn in a single lane road with six cars behind me.

Did I pass you? I didn't notice anyone washing a bike.

Does anyone have any routes? (Google Maps etc)

As I sometimes feel like going for a drive, but never know where or what roads to go on and usually end up looking out the window at the car but not going in the end.

Umm well I live near the centre of Guildford, so anywhere within 20/30 miles really.. Quite open as I enjoy driving, I usually just end up driving in traffic though hehe

I like the idea of having say 50 local routes all marked on a Google Map, a group text could go out:

2pm Start at Guildford, Routes 11 (via M3 to)+ 17 and back. Nice and simple. I just can't find a web app I can attach to a website that would either allow a text to be bounced out to a group, or an email to be sent out to a text group, without paying monthly charges.

I'm up for this too. I'm only in Frimley Green so am in a prime location to join you guys if you're going out. Love the website idea! Could really do with that kind of thing to organise it a little better.

I can easily provide the ability to send out e-mails to a group without any charges. I don't think that I can send text messages.

If you want me to set up an e-mail group, then I would be very happy to do so.
