Following on from the thread about mini random hoons and how to inform others, invite them to come along I have a low tech solution. I bought an app for the iphone that allows grouping of contacts so, I can take an incoming text and turn it around and send it out to PHrs who've given me their mobile numbers/want to be sent a text when a mini hoon is imminent. What I'd suggest is that a text could include the following:

[name] Hewlett, leaving Bracknell Esso garage near KFC [departure point], going to Basingstoke and back to Bracknell [some detail on route], at 2/8/10pm [leave time], today [when].

I guess it would be good to include other details like expected journey time but this would probably be enough info. Generally the phone is with me all the time, so anything that comes in 7am - midnight will be turned around/texted on pretty promptly.

I'll leave the 'Hoon Alert Line' number here for a day or so, so please send me a text with your number and name if you want to be included on the list. It will be interesting to see how useful this will be, perhaps I'll post here in a few weeks time to give some details of the mini hoon 'opportunities' that have come in (won't mention names), just to see how/if this is a useful thing.

Where do you live Hewlett? I am Shamley Green (5 miles south of Guildford) so can get to most places around and about reasonably quickly...

Bagshot, but I imagine there will be start points everywhere around the area, some I will be able to get to others not but I hope to be able to provide a reliable 'text on' service smile

Just texted by number to you, it's unlikely that I'll make it to most of them but on the off-chance I'd love to get out for a hoon!

Hopefully this will plug the gap between a hoon planned days or weeks in advance and ones with hours or even a couple of days notice - so you never know we may get a text on Monday for a hoon on Wednesday so you may have plenty of warning to travel in if the set off point's a distance away.

I've seen a silver and a blue n locally, either yours? Both had standard alloys.
