I have finally got my mates boat back to mine,its been sitting in a field for about 18 years,his mother in law has sold the land where it was stored so he has given it to me!
Its a a 26'martini/corsa powered by a 5.7 mercruiser V8 engine.The last time we used it it was hitting about 70mph.I have bought a late mercruiser engine for it and have a newer trailer aswell.
The trim has sufferd as its been outdoors and rearlly needs retriming so if anyone can help me out with this they are welcome to join us for lots of skiing etc next year-I also have a parachute to stick on the back so testpilots are welcome. (I think nonuts should be the guinea pig!)
I had the GingaNinja pop round today and despite the fact that it has a CAST IRON engine he's chomping at the bit to drive it(if its any consolation my dog bit him,so he must be a good judge of character).We should have a good time next year if we have any sunshine,is there still no speed limit on the tidal thames?.

Hopefully as it's a Merecruser system it should have cooling water heat exchangers which avoid sea water going through the block.
These enable the motor to run at correct operating temprature, and keep the salt out of the vital parts.

I also have a Mercruiser closed cooling kit (heat exchanger)in the States along with a Mercruiser high5 5 blade stainless prop,presently engine is cooled by raw water,but has only run in fresh water.These enable the motor to run at correct operating temprature, and keep the salt out of the vital parts.

Can you post somepics and what sort of materials need triming, used to do a bit of this on Demo cars...The main job will be to strip out the seats and carpet and replace the floor.The engine cover also needs replacing as I put my foot through it Sunday showing Jellison the boat!.

Add me to the list of helpers too if you need anything. I've spent a good number of years either with my head under marine engine covers, behind the wheel, or hanging off the back at speed (with a rope and ski, rather than by accident 
)I can prob. help here as well .. most of my non-working life has been spent behind a boat at speed too!
I can get you some testing time on a local ski lake for a nominal fee (have to be very off peak, but that's not difficult to achieve here)

Well the retrimming in those materials is no issue, maybe we should have a pub lunch meet one sunday to colectively have a gander.
Why dont my mates give me things like this,
If this is like the one I played with at Rib-X the other year then this is a very fast boat, the hull is more suited to the flatter med waters than the crappy tidal stuff we have here, but once up and out should seriously shift!
Is it still in Martini colours?
We need another chase boat though so we can do lunch hoons to the channel island or St M!
