Does anyone know of anywhere in the Berkshire area where I can get a the back boxes chopped out of a stainless exhaust and rewelded with straight pipe ?

I'm out Theale way but distance not a problem.

Ideally looking to get it done this Saturday (not that I'm impatient or anything ...)

cheers

Mike

I'd go to this place as recommended by Mr Verysideways:

Edmunds tyre & Exhaust Winnersh crossroads - +44 118 989 1123

I used them once a few months back when my stainless exhaust was blowing. There was not much they could do with it as the pipe itself was shot and they did'nt carry a suitable replacement, but they had a go at welding it up and at least diagnosed the underlying problem.

Probably best to ring first as they are not a custom exhaust place as such.

I'd recommend Simpsons if you have the luxury of time, as they are quite busy. Even if they can't fit in the work for a long while, or you don't want to spend the money for what is perfect quality work, they will supply exactly the right length/shape/ diameter/ thickness of pipe you need.
I had Simpson's cut the pipes for use on my Monaro (for some seriously loud tunnel run pipes biggrin ), then Alexander Motors in Sunningdale sorted out the fitting for me. Great guys!

www.thephirm.co.uk - on the A30 nr Hartley Witney.

VAG cars mainly but they do loads of custom work and fabrication so this would be very straight forward for them I'm sure. Also have an excellent coffee machine in reception :-)

Top Gear in Aylesbury I know it's a fair schlepp but they did a friend of mine's old Bedford CF campervan exhaust which was cracking around a weld and charged only a tenner for it. They specialise in customer exhausts.
