A4074 - Anyone driven it recently? Safe?
Discussion
My brother is driving back for Christmas today. The last section of his route will be the A4074 from over near M40 to Reading. Is it free of snow and ice? I assume it will be being a main route.
Just thought I'd check. He will be steering the raw beast that is the MX5 after all
I'm also interested to know if my usual blat before Christmas lunch is on the cards this year
Anyone driven the B4494?

I couldn't comment on the 4074, but being in the sticks all I can see out the window is snow, and all the minor roads around here are seriously icy. Unless things clear up all of a sudden I definitely won't be risking a hoon.
Mind you, I may be going to a certain noise-related event in London on Boxing day - doesn't look like any other SASers are going though, which is putting me off at the moment. Surely the Elise would sound good in a tunnel John, or are you busy?

Nothing on here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/travelnews/local/oxford.shtml
All main roads in Caversham are free of ice.
Edited to add, there is a Met Office severe weather alert for ice, so take it easy...

Robbie: I'm still considering - see what the weather is like on the day. It's a 10am meet, less than an hour from my house...
Mark: might see you there then
Same here, I guess all of us should be going if the weather's ok and none if not. Looking like it should warm up a bit so it could well be on - I guess we could meet up locally and convoy it up there?Mark: might see you there then

Welcome to pax if i go.
Mind you, Swift is probably louder than the 1'er!!
Cheers for the offer Pete, louder but not necessarily a nicer noise - mind you I'm not sure which is more important on tunnel runs anymore!Mind you, Swift is probably louder than the 1'er!!
I think I'll be taking a mate along in the Swift on its last TR, as i'll be taking the exhaust off straight after, and then hopefully selling both it and the car before I return to Uni. I guess we should set up the meet off the public forum and let John D. have his thread back (sorry mate!).
