First post in this forum, so hi everyone!
I'm (or rather my o/h) is trying to find a wedding venue for Feb/March time. Ideally we'd like a barn type place, that allows us to bring our own food and drink to save a bit on the cost. Most placecs we've found provide the barn but also provide their bar and food which is proving to be quite pricey!
We're in Reading, so somewhere in Berkshire or the surrounds would be ideal..
Any suggestions would be most welcome - Thanks!

Not sure whether this is up your street or not, and depends on the number of people attending, but the link below may be of some use.

It's located in Bramley (south of Godalming but still within the SAS) and I went there for a do earlier in the year and was a very nice place. They may be able to help you out if you were organising your own food. I do know that they do supply their own organic ales there (albeit in small quantities), but that might be another quirky little thing to add to the options.
Just a thought, and congrats to you both as well.

Perfect venue
My brother was married here in October. Own Bar, Own Caterers, Fantastic venue, and Civil registered. Reasonably close, near Petersfield.
If you want any inside info, let me know

Try this place http://www.taplinsplace.co.uk/ by all accounts on the wedding forumns it is good.
Ufton Court, Tithe Barn. The Barn is lovely. They recommend outside caterers on their web site as I don't think they provide there own, so I don't see why providing your own food would be a problem. It's about 7/8 miles outside Reading town centre off the A4 towards Newbury so easy to get to.

Ignore the education centre bit, it makes it sound like a hovel, but it isn't the whole place is Fab.
Good luck and have a wonderful day where ever you end up.

I got married in 2008 and had the reception at Lillibrooke Manor.
It's just off the M4 junc 8/9, near White Waltham.
They can do civil services there.
They don't have a licence, so you must provide your own alcohol, however the food must be provided by their approved outside caterer, Martin Sherry (very good food by the way).
Also for comedy value, the Manor house and Barn owned by a mad, wirey haired old bird called Mary and her alcoholic husband Jospeh... worth checking the place out, just to meet them!
