I'm thinking the 4x4 rally route is for me to try next, so is the subaru or mitsi the way to go?

I get a bit more car and slightly newer with the Subaru, and evo is a higher service item but more exclusive.

Looking at this 9 Fq on mlr, its a cat d though.

I do love those Evos. That one does look fantastic. Same alloys as my old Clio but an inch bigger wink With nigh on 400bhp it'll go like stink!

Is there any details of what the damage was when it became Cat D? Pics of repairs etc? I did'nt notice anything skim reading the ad.

As Nick says, but the cat D thing has never been fully understood by me and is reinsurance on them is easy?

I looks lovely, and a 8 MR in gun metal is my other choice, or a cheeky gtr32 http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/789415.htmbiggrin

Insuring a Cat D shouldn't be a problem, only real prob arises with valuing it if you stack it etc. Insurance payout will likely be much reduced over and above even what most people might devalue it by. Say you buy an £20k car for £15k as it's on the register, insurance if paying out might only pay £10k claiming the listing halfs the value - hard one to argue with them on as you won't really be able to find a number of examples to show what they are really worth. Also resale can be a little bit tricky sometimes, a lot of people just say they wouldn't touch listed cars with a bargepole (which is crazy) but it does mean you might half your market - buy at the right price though and then you can sell at the right price and it all comes out in the wash.....just don't stack it hehe

out of those two ben i would go with the RB320 its a more desired car and will hold its value too.
the rb320 are also very rare to see unless you go to rally day at castle combe where they have there annual meet smile

Hi Al,

Well have owned 2 x scoobies, Classic 2000 Turbo did 70k miles on it and it never missed a beat and "53" STI PPP, 40k again 100% reliable.
only sold the scooby to get the M3 conv.(girls car)
I test drove the Mits Evo7 FQ300 a fab car to drive but in the end i went with the running costs of the scooby which is a less.

If you want an interesting Scooby then have a look at any Litchfield type car, they had some great reviews on Motoring press, you could find yourself a cherished 2nd hand smile

Think the RB320 are out of price range, and not keen on that only colour you get the WR1 in. There are some mint makk's on the mlr,

but im not sure on red cars, and the very rally look of them.

Well aware of Litchfield, and the type C RA are a hoot I think. Maybe shall search the site, getting the feeling the Scoobies are the more reliable and economic of the two, if there is such a thing.
